In 2004, the Kansas District of the Assemblies of God Women’s Ministries planned a trip to Christiana, Jamaica. As soon as DeAnna heard about this opportunity, she knew it was a trip she had to go on. This was truly a God-appointed trip for her.

The women were busy with several ministry opportunities. The trip began with a two day retreat for leaders of women’s ministries across Jamaica. There were about 85 Jamaican women participating in this event. The Kansas women shared through ministry, music and training. DeAnna facilitated a training session on Developing Relationships. The Women’s Ministries leader in Jamaica had been praying for training and told the Kansas women this event was a miracle – an answer to their prayers.

After the second day of ministry, the women geared up for the next ministry opportunity. The Kansas women ministered at the women’s prison in Kingston, Jamaica. This was the first time the Assemblies of God had been able to minister at the prison. Over 100 women participated in the service and many gave their lives to God. The ladies ministered through skits, testimonies, music, and care packages.

A group of the ladies, including DeAnna, spent the next couple of days renovating the dorm areas of the Bible College. They painted, cleaned, and blessed the students with new sheets, towels, and shower curtains. While this group was working on the dorms, another group of ladies ministered to children through a Kids Crusade. There were puppets, clowns, gifts for the children, games, and ministry. There were more than 200 children ministered to over the three days of the crusade.

Not only did the ladies minister to the people of Jamaica, they also ministered to the missionaries and were tremendously blessed themselves.
